Welcome to NuPhysical Las Vegas!
I had no idea how well this was going to go! Getting back mobility in my left leg, which has/had drop foot since my 1st (emergent) spinal surgery in Dec. 2002, was more than I ever could’ve seen coming! I currently have full extension in my left leg & heel to toe movement. Beyond any expectation I could’ve held. My hips are back in perfect alignment which has been 9.5 years. I am standing on both legs with equal weight distribution and keep switching my weight to my left leg – without thought. After nearly a decade, potentially even 15 yrs or more since I’ve evenly carried my weight or stood entirely on my left leg is crazy – in the absolute best possible way! I can’t believe things that I haven’t done in so long are happening without thought!!! I’m floored!!! I sent a message to my neurosurgeon’s surgery scheduler, both I’ve know since 2000. She was thrilled and told me how awesome it was since I’ve tried everything else. I was hoping to try and get my hips back in alignment & release pain, but wasn’t sure it was possible since my MVA in 2011. Hoping to reduce pain in my hip and my back were something I was hoping could be minimized, but again, nothing is ever guaranteed, something I’m more than conscious of! This is NEXT LEVEL, in terms of any kinds of hopes! I was able to fully lift my left leg, while on my tummy, after some work on my pelvic bone in my left gluteus maximus. Again, something I never would’ve expected possible. While sitting I realized I had both feet in relevé. I know I won’t be doing heel stretches tomorrow, but it is currently a potential, once I build back up my muscle mass. On my way out of the office, about halfway to the car, my legs, and more heavily my left leg were starting to suffer from some serious muscle fatigue, after years of not being used. It was a tremendous feeling, because it means I’ve gained back a chunk of my life, I never even thought possible. I realize, that after so many years of my body being stuck in a degrees of extreme limitation, I don’t expect it to ever be 100%. And, I’m aware that there’s a good chance some of what I’ve gained back could reverse. However, I’m hopeful that over the course of the next few treatments it’ll become more stable. I’m also hopeful that the next couple of treatments will be able to help loosen up my back & the chronic pain. I’m over the moon & couldn’t be more happy or more optimistic.
